The study aims to evaluate the impact of digital transformation—across its operational, relational, and transformational dimensions—on human resource management (HRM) practices in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) within the Makkah region, in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030. It focused on understanding the influence of digital transformation in a technologically dynamic and competitive work environment.
The research adopted a descriptive-analytical method, utilizing an online questionnaire distributed to 207 employees, with the instrument’s validity and reliability confirmed (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.980).
Results analyzed using SPSS revealed a strong and statistically significant correlation between digital transformation and HRM practices (ρ = 0.802), as well as a direct and powerful effect (B = 0.872, Beta = 0.808).
The study recommends developing digital infrastructure, integrating digital transformation into HRM strategies, expanding the use of ERP and CRM systems, and conducting future studies across different regions and sectors to deepen understanding of this impact.
